Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) are man-made organic chemicals that were used in caulk to seal brick joints in many buildings from the 1950s to the 1970s. They were added to building materials to make them more durable, flexible, and flame retardant. PCBs can also be found in flooring, paints, oil, wire insulation, contaminated soil, window caulking, and many other products.
PCBs were banned in the United States in 1978, because they cause numerous adverse health effects, such as cancer, immune system, endocrine system and nervous system disorders.
Bestech has removed and disposed of PCB containing materials in Hospitals, Schools, Universities, Municipal Buildings, State Buildings, Apartments, and Industrial Facilities, as well as residential structures. Bestech's trained and certified staff can help you plan the most cost-effective method to remove and dispose of any PCB containing material.
Bestech's Supervisors and Workers all have 40 Hour Hazwoper Training and annual Refreshers, Fit Tests, and OSHA 30 and/or 10 Hour training every 5 years.
