Asbestos comes in many forms. Asbestos is a mineral fiber used in over 3,000 products. These products can be characterized as either friable or non-friable asbestos containing material. (ACM).

Areas of potential concern are floor tiles and adhesives, ceiling tiles, pipe insulation, fireproofing, shingles, sheetrock compound, boilers, roofing, exterior siding and other products that were installed before the mid 1970's.

Disturbing the ACM during remodeling and demolition poses a health risk for all parties involved with its' handling. Asbestos can only be detected by laboratory analysis.
